Build Sustainable Urban Neighbourhood
Landscape Regeneration in Sheffield

Located in the north quarter of city centre, the site was formerly occupied by heavy industry and now it is gradually becoming the large transitional mixed use area.

Concept
Improve mixed use development: reuse of listed buildings; introduce community facilities; mix residential, offices and commercial premises
Create industrial heritage & education centre: build the cultural industrial centre based on the Kelham Island Museum
Preserve historic street pattern and relocate open space: emphasize the perimeter blocks; highlight spatial sequence
Enhance the river Don Valley corridor: improve the accessibility to riverside and riverside walk; enrich the ecological diversity
Strengthen the links and connection: establish the pedestrian and cycle circulation route; improve public transportation
